You're better off trying to get to a rank where you can create Expert or Expert+ rooms. Rubies can be earned by completing surveys, but frankly it isn't worth your time. You get tokens just for logging in and playing, but getting enough to unlock all of the settings will take years. You should pick the highest DAS you're comfortable with, and IHS and IRS should be on.ĮDIT: If you want to unlock the settings before getting to a high enough rank to make expert rooms, you can do it with tokens or rubies. Settings 3 4 and 5 for ARR are all equivalent and you should pick one of those. I'm not sure of the details here but you can google it (I think you might need to copy+paste a url or something). If you want to stick to Tetris Friends in order to play Tetris Arena with people, if you get a certain rank (10?) you can make an Expert or Expert+ room, where the tuning settings are unlocked for everyone. Google "NullpoMino guide" if you need help setting it up. Unlocking the settings takes a long time, and on NullpoMino you get it all right away. My honest recommendation is to drop Tetris Friends and play NullpoMino instead. The players on YouTube use these settings but they have also practiced for years. This is all important but the most important thing is still practice. If you play on Nullpomino, you can change DAS, ARR, line clear delay, and other settings to get the game systems out of the way so that you can play as quickly as possible. I'm not sure if the other modes allow expert mode.Įven with these settings changed, Tetris Friends is not the fastest client because the game plays an animation every time that you clear a line. I think if you get past Silver Rank in Tetris Arena, you can play in an "expert mode" room that unlocks all tuning settings. Tokens are earned very slowly over time: rubies can be earned reasonably quickly by completing surveys and whatnot. In Tetris Friends, you have to unlock these tuning settings with tokens or rubies. Once you have those settings, you can use them to place pieces with fewer key presses. You want ARR to be as fast as possible, and DAS to be as fast as you can have it without it messing with your regular key taps. I saw your post in /r/Tetris and the post by PoochyEXE is correct: you need to change your DAS (Delayed Auto Shift, AKA how long you have to hold a key before the piece starts moving continuously) and your ARR (Auto Repeat Rate: how quickly the piece moves when DAS is charged).
